1. Introduction

CB Gmail Exchange Sync is the solution for secure synchronization and migration of calendar data between Exchange Server and Gmail or G Suite. You can synchronize any number of accounts hosted in Exchange Server with any number of Gmail or G Suite accounts for the calendar information.

CB Gmail Exchange Sync is bundled together with CB Exchange Server Sync. The two software solutions share the licensing procedure. The setup and pair configuration procedures are also shared. On the list below, you will find a list of relevant procedures for setting up and configuring CB Gmail Exchange Sync.

4. Purchase

To purchase the CB Gmail Exchange Sync product, visit our webpage @ www.connecting-software.com and choose “CB Gmail Exchange Sync” from the products menu as shown below.

From the “CB Gmail Exchange Sync” product page shown below in Figure 2, click the Pricing tab to view the pricing page with the available purchase plans as shown in Figure 3.

Scroll down the page and click “Try Now” to get your free trial to test the product first or you purchase a paid subscription as shown below in Figure 3 by clicking “Buy Now”.

Add the product you wish to cart and then complete your purchase profile. Place your order by clicking the “Place Order Now” button

Once done, you will see an order confirmation on the screen

You will get 2 emails from us. An order confirmation email and an activation email.

Click the link pointing to our SaaS portal from step 1 in the activation email to access your SaaS portal and configure your “CB Gmail Exchange Sync”.

5. Login to SaaS portal

The portal can be found on [https://saas.connecting-software.com/]. Please refer to this documentation for additional information on how to login.

6. Configuration

There are two ways for you to configure a pair. Use our Configuration wizard or configure it manually.

6.1 Important Concepts

Please refer to CB Exchange Server Sync documentation.

6.2 Using the configuration wizard

To configure your pair using the configuration wizard, please refer to this documentation. You can also find specific information below:

6.3 Navigating the Dashboard

After having your product activated you will be able to see information regarding your subscriptions in the Dashboard. Please refer to this link to learn how to navigate through the different options.

6.4 Manual Configuration

If you prefer to configure your pair manually, instead of using the configuration wizard you can refer to this link.

6.4.1 Create new pair using server creation

6.4.1.a Create a server

You will need to navigate to the server configuration page by choosing Configuration-> CB Exchange Server Sync & CB Google Exchange Sync -> Server configuration.

Once there, you can click on the ‘Create Google Server’ button and choose between a GSuite account or a normal account using sign in with Google:

After choosing the type of authentication you want to use, a form will be displayed where you can add the rest of the information required.

If you choose to use a GSuite service account, you will need to add your JSON key for the GSuite (Figure 8).

If you choose to authenticate with a Google account, you will see a popup that will ask you to login to Google where you should insert your credentials. Once this is done and you close the popup, you will see the Google form filled in with your information and only missing the Server alias (Figure 9)

Once all of this is done, you can click Save and your new server will be created.

6.4.1.b Create the pair

Once you have your server created, it is time to create your Google-Exchange pair.

You will need to navigate to the server configuration page by choosing Configuration-> CB Exchange Server Sync & CB Google Exchange Sync -> Pair configuration.

Once there, click on the ‘Create Pair’ button. You will see a screen with the first user configuration (your Google account), second server configuration (your Exchange account) and the settings.

  • First server: make sure you have selected ‘Using service user’ and have selected for the ‘First Server’ the server alias you just created.
  • First user: the full email address

You can now jump to the Common part of pair creation section to proceed to the rest of your pair configuration.

6.4.2 Create new pair using direct credentials

You will need to navigate to the server configuration page by choosing Configuration-> CB Exchange Server Sync & CB Google Exchange Sync -> Pair configuration.

Once there, you can click on the ‘Create Pair’ button to be redirected to the create pair form. You will see a screen with first user configuration (your google account), second server configuration (your exchange account) and the settings.

You can now jump to the Common part of pair creation section to proceed to the rest of your pair configuration.

6.4.3 Common part of pair creation

Once you have configured your first user with a Google account it is time to configure the Exchange account and the settings for the pair.

At this point, you need to fill in your Exchange information. You have different configurations available, choose the one that suits your specific case.

Lastly you have the Synchronization settings form. You have information on each of these fields in the Synchronization settings section.

Once you are done, save your pair. You will be redirected to the pair listing page where you can start the synchronization, or edit the pair, among other actions. For more information on this, please check the Pair Actions section and the Sync Status section.
