G-Cloud 15 has officially launched, replacing the previous shorter cycles with a new 4-year framework. This gives UK public-sector organisations a more stable, long-term route to procure cloud technology and support services.

Connecting Software has been accepted onto G-Cloud for the first time with this launch, bringing more than 20 years of enterprise integration experience to solve complex integration challenges across regulated and security-sensitive environments.

What is G-Cloud 15?

G-Cloud helps UK public-sector organisations buy cloud-based services through an established government procurement framework.

Rather than running a completely independent procurement exercise, an eligible buyer can use the framework to find services from suppliers that have already completed the G-Cloud application and assessment process.

G-Cloud 15 covers services within five lots:

  • Lot 1a: Cloud Hosting - Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) for information classified up to OFFICIAL
  • Lot 1b: Cloud Hosting - Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) classified above OFFICIAL (SECRET or TOP SECRET)
  • Lot 2a: Cloud Software - Infrastructure Software as a Service (iSaaS) applications usually accessed over the internet or private network and hosted in the cloud.
  • Lot 2b: Cloud Software - Software as a Service (SaaS) applications usually accessed over the internet or private network and hosted in the cloud.
  • Lot 3: Cloud Support - All cloud-specific professional services for a clearly defined period.

G-Cloud 15 is delivered under the Procurement Act 2023 and replaces G-Cloud 14.

There are free trials available for all Connecting Software’s products, and if a more complex Proof of Concept is required, this can be requested from our team.

Why Experience Matters In Integration Projects

Connecting two systems is often straightforward.

The real complexity comes from operational questions such as:

  • What happens when permissions change?
  • How are conflicts handled?
  • Where is data stored?
  • Can transfers be limited to specific records?
  • How does the integration behave during outages?
  • Can activity be audited?
  • Who maintains the solution long term?

These are the questions that determine whether an integration will remain stable and reliable over time.
