We were thrilled to kick off our 20-year anniversary celebrations at Connecting Software yesterday! 🎉 It was a momentous occasion marked by pride, gratitude, and excitement about celebrating our company's past and looking into its promising future.
The Celebration Begins
Our office in Funchal, Madeira Island, Portugal, was chosen as the location to kickstart the celebrations. We were honored to welcome at our office distinguished guests from the Madeiran Government and key individuals who have significantly contributed to our success. Their presence made the celebration even more special, highlighting the strong relationships we've built over the years.
Among our esteemed guests was the Regional Secretary for Economy, Tourism and Culture of Madeira, Eduardo Jesus.
A Humble Beginning with Grand Ambitions
Connecting Software was founded in 2004 in Austria. The initial venture was named Cross National Solutions, later abbreviated to CNS. The business eventually differentiated into four primary branches, each forming a separate company. This strategic evolution started with the opening of our first office outside Austria. “We decided to open an office in Malacky, Slovakia” Thomas Berndorfer, Connecting Software’s CEO explains.
An Evolution Marked by Growth and Innovation
How has the company evolved over the past 20 years?
Our journey has been defined by constant and sustainable growth. Back in 2013, Connecting Software Inc. in the USA was founded. Thomas visited Silicon Valley to prepare for this expansion, and the subsidiary was established in Denver, Colorado, marking our entry into the North American market.
In 2017, furthering our global footprint, we opened an office in Madeira Island, Portugal. The location was chosen for its International Business Center, the pipeline of qualified talent from the local university, and the delightful weather that Madeira is renowned for. It currently employs more than 25 professionals working in its office in Funchal. “We are planning to move to a new office soon as we want to grow our local team to double its size in two years”, Thomas Berndorfer reveals.
“The company as a whole is currently growing 30% each year”, Thomas Berndorfer points out. “And we are 100% self-financed!”, he adds.
Significant Milestones and Recognitions
Our growth and innovations have not gone unnoticed. After years of dedicated work, Microsoft recognized the value of our contributions, awarding us the prestigious Microsoft Partner of the Year 2015 Finalist for an application we developed. Over the years, we became Microsoft Gold Partners and added other certifications and awards, such as Salesforce Partner, Top Blockchain Solution Provider, or the ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certifications.

Our company has continually embraced growth, expanding into cutting-edge sectors. “One example is the launch in 2019 of our Blockchain Seal solution for document authenticity”, Thomas Berndorfer points out.
