Post-Quantum Cryptography: How To Prepare Your Organization Now

 Forbes

Thomas Berndorfer, a cybersecurity expert and CEO of Connecting Software contributed to a panel about how businesses can prepare for quantum technology. Super powerful quantum computers are still highly experimental, but many fear that they will be able to break down even state-of-the-art encryption when they do.

Thomas argued that for now these fears are overblown, and businesses should focus on more pressing (and much less hypothetical) security issues in the present. He said businesses should question whether the large institutions with access to quantum computing have incentive to attack and decrypt data in the short term.

In the mean time, businesses should focus on protecting the authenticity and verifiability of their data through technologies such as blockchain, saying "It’s simple and affordable to protect the authenticity of your data by using the blockchain. It might be encryptable, but it’s not tamperable."

Connecting Software's Truth Enforcer exists to help businesses rest easier about the authenticity of their data - allowing you to instantly find out whether a document is original or has been tampered with.
