As part of the ‘Budget by the Citizens’ initiative, the Vice President of the Regional Government, Pedro Calado, visited Connecting Software, a company located in the Parque Empresarial da Zona Oeste, in Câmara de Lobos. Praising the fact that this is a company that is booming in Madeira Island, with 20 employees and working in the new technologies sector, Pedro Calado highlighted that half of the workers are from Madeira and trained at the University of Madeira, while the other 50% are foreigners.

“It is something that most people don’t talk about, but the truth is that we have many foreign people living in Madeira and who chose our region to come here to work in these technological and computer programming areas. This company, although it seems small, is a company that works for the whole world and is also, in a way, an ambassador of what is happening in Madeira, because it works from here and promotes Madeira in terms of tourism because it promotes the best that we have here and we are very pleased”, said the vice president of the Madeiran executive, explaining that this group of workers coming from abroad “chose Madeira for its lifestyle, security and economic and social stability.”.
